Biography

The Stringbeans Quartet have been adding their trademark touch of musical whimsy to Bath area events and audiences since the group was founded in 2004.  From an optimistic foursome of University music students, the group has grown into one of Bath’s most highly demanded musical commodities. 

Best known for their versatility, the Stringbeans play an impressive array of genres and styles including classical, jazz, show-tunes, and modern pop and rock. This keen adaptability ensures that the Stringbeans Quartet have what it takes to delight and enlighten at any event. Whether they’re serenading audiences with Grieg or Gershwin, Mozart or Madonna, everyone who has a taste of the Stringbeans is certain to experience a unique brand of musical merriment.

The Stringbeans have had the opportunity to perform with/for the likes of Doctor Who (BBC TV), Il Divo and Toni Braxton, Kula Shaker, BBC Radio, Jane Seymour and many more. 

The Stringbeans Quartet (Bath) play in traditional String Quartet formation, with Emily Travis on First Violin, Sue Lord on Second Violin, Emma Hooper on Viola and Bethany Porter on Cello.
