The Stringbeans Quartet has been adding their trademark touch of musical whimsy to Edmonton area events and audiences since the group was founded in 1999. From an optimistic foursome of University of Alberta music students, the group has grown into one of Edmonton's most highly demanded musical commodities. Best known for their versatility, the Beans have been seen and heard just about everywhere; from farmer's markets to the Winspear concert stage, and from film soundtracks to specially commissioned modern dance works.

The Stringbeans have had the opportunity to perform with and for some of Alberta's greatest names, including emerging pop sensation Bryce Kulak, renowned playwright Stewart Lemoine, former Lt. Governor Lois Hole, former Prime Minister Joe Clark and master chocolatier Bernard Callebaut. It should therefore come as no surprise that the Stringbeans have a repertoire as diverse and eclectic as their performance opportunities. Whether they're serenading audiences with Grieg or Gershwin, Mozart or Madonna, everyone who has a taste of the Stringbeans is certain to experience a unique brand of musical merriment.

The Stringbeans play in traditional String Quartet formation, with Ryan Herbold on First Violin, Leigh Dyrda on Second Violin, Robin Leicht on Viola and Mark Moran on Cello.
